Is a WARDOGS playtest active?

Check the current playtest status, identify the test client, and choose a next step without treating Request Access as an approval.

Current answer

The September beta window has ended

As of September 10, 2026, no later public playtest has been announced. The latest published window ran from September 3 at 19:00 UTC to September 6 at 08:00 UTC; Closed Beta 02 became an Open Beta on September 5.

Test client

WARDOGS Playtest is the separate Steam testing client. The main WARDOGS product is Steam App 1867240; keeping the Playtest in your Library does not grant ownership of the main game or show that a test is open.

Request Access

The public Steam store did not show Request Access at the September 10 check. If that button returns, a request alone still does not confirm selection, an active event, or playable access.

Early Access was announced for September 10 for the main game. At 12:27 UTC that day, Steam still showed Pre-Purchase and Coming Soon. A launch announcement or completed preload is not proof that your client can join a match.

Client identity

Use the client named for each event. The historical beta used the WARDOGS Playtest entry; check the main WARDOGS Library entry for Early Access.

How September access changed

The September 1 announcement offered guaranteed access with a preorder and other invitations in waves. The September 5 announcement changed that test to Open Beta; those rules do not promise access to a future test.

Next step: For Early Access, check the official store and your main WARDOGS Library entry. For a future playtest, wait for a new official event and its access instructions.

No invite or previous access

The September beta window is over. The official community still accepts registrations for future playtests; use the Beta access guide to understand that waiting path.

Keep in mind: A signup does not guarantee selection, timing, or a currently playable beta.

The Playtest is still in your Library

Treat that entry as a testing client. Check the current official event before using it; for Early Access, look for the main WARDOGS entry instead.

Keep in mind: An installed test client does not prove that public servers are open or that you own the main game.

You purchased or preloaded WARDOGS

Use the main WARDOGS Library entry. Follow Steam’s available preload, Install, or Play control and the current release notice.

Keep in mind: Preloading downloads files before release; it does not unlock the game or extend the September beta.
