Direct answer
Use the main WARDOGS Steam entry for Early Access.
Confirm that your Steam account owns App 1867240, then select the main WARDOGS Library entry. Choose Install if offered, or Play if it is already installed and ready. WARDOGS Playtest is a separate testing client.
Checked September 18, 2026: Steam lists the main game as released September 10 in Early Access and offers a purchase option. Your account permissions, Library controls and server availability still determine whether you can proceed.
Safe path
Installation steps
- Open the official WARDOGS Steam listing and confirm App ID 1867240.
- Sign in through Steam itself; do not give credentials to a third-party installer or key site.
- Confirm ownership on the signed-in account. In the main WARDOGS Library entry, choose Install if offered, select a library location and let Steam finish downloading.
- Let any required updates or Steam processing finish, then choose Play from that same main-game entry. If Play is already available, continue there; an old Playtest installation is not a substitute.

Main app versus Playtest
The August beta and the September 3–6 beta are past events. September’s Closed Beta 02 became Open Beta on September 5, but kept its September 6 at 08:00 UTC end. Keeping WARDOGS Playtest installed does not mean its public event is open.
For Early Access, use WARDOGS, the main Steam product. Test access does not by itself grant ownership of the paid game or replace its download.
If there is no Install button
Treat missing access as an access question first.
If Install and Play are both missing, confirm that you are signed into the account that owns the main game and selected WARDOGS rather than WARDOGS Playtest. Check the ownership and account messages shown by Steam; use its support path if the main game is owned but unavailable.
The September 10 release date is in the past; do not keep waiting for that unlock. If Steam offers Play but launching fails, use the Not launching guide. Check access before changing Windows, drivers or security software.
