Current answer
Start with the main WARDOGS game in your Steam Library.
Open Steam App 1867240 by BULKHEAD and Team17. Confirm that the signed-in account owns the main game, or use the official purchase option if you choose to buy it. Select WARDOGS in your Library and continue with Install or Play.
Steam lists a September 10, 2026 Early Access release, checked September 18. This confirms the main product release, not access for every account or availability of every server. A separate Playtest requires its own current eligibility.

Key facts
From no access to launch
Follow the official gates in order
- Open the WARDOGS Steam page and confirm App 1867240, BULKHEAD, and Team17.
- Confirm that the signed-in Steam account owns the main game. If it does not, review the official purchase option before deciding whether to buy.
- Select WARDOGS in your Steam Library. An old Playtest entry or invitation does not by itself grant ownership of the main game.
- Choose Install if offered, or Play if the main game is installed and ready. Complete any required updates or Steam processing.
- If neither control is available, check the account and ownership message. Use a separate Playtest only if current official instructions and your account eligibility allow it.
Separate test access
Use Playtest only with current test eligibility
WARDOGS Playtest is separate from the paid main game. A past test invitation, Request Access registration or installed test client does not establish that you can join a test now.
- Check current official test instructions, including the named client, event window and account eligibility.
- Use the test client only if those instructions apply to your account and Steam offers the required controls.
- For the released Early Access game, return to the main WARDOGS Library entry.
After access is granted
Separate access from installation and troubleshooting
This guide ends when the correct, currently valid Steam client is ready to launch. Installation details belong to Download and install; a client that opens and exits belongs to Crashing; no process or window belongs to Not launching.
